There are many ministries available at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. Each are specifically designed and geared to serve you and your family, and to help you find your place in the CABC family and in the Kingdom of God, as we seek to glorify Christ and know Him in a personal way.
Bible Study & Education
At Columbus Avenue, we believe Bible Study is at the root of an active and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, and that it is important to do that with others who identify with you and your family's place in life. No matter you age or place in life, there is a class for you.
Discipleship
Throughout the year we offer a variety of different discipleship courses. These may include Sunday evening, Wednesday evening, and weekday studies.
Music
Here at CABC, we offer a place for everyone to learn to praise God through music and to lead others in worship. We invite you to find your place in our ministry of music as we strive together to worship God in spirit and in truth.
Preschool
With a heavy emphasis on Sunday School, preschoolers, birth through five years of age, at Columbus Avenue are taught eternal truths about God and His Word as they enjoy concrete Bible learning activities. Parents of preschoolers are encouraged and strengthened through New and Expectant Parent conference, Preparing Your Preschooler For Worship, and other parenting conferences throughout the year.
Children
The Columbus Avenue Children's Ministry exists to create an environment for faith in which boys and girls will be transformed into the spiritual champions that God created them to be. With Bible Study at its heart, our ministry provides Vacation Bible School, Children's Camps, Summer Activities, Children's Choirs, Missions Organizations, New Christians Classes, Children's Discipleship and many other special emphasis throughout the year.
Youth
Middle School and High School students, grades 7-12, are involved in our youth ministry. Throughout the year there are discipleship groups, Bonzais, Reunion, camp, Get a Grip weekend, camp-outs, and much more to involve students in an active relationship with Christ and others.
College
Our college ministry reaches college students from Baylor University, Truett Seminary, and McLennan County Community College. Each week students are brought together in community through Sunday School, Reveal and the Gathering. There are also many mission and fellowship opportunities available throughout both semesters.
Senior Adults
We love and honor our senior adults at CABC. Through Bible Study and Worship on Sundays, our monthly Be Active, Live Longer (B.A.L.L.) Club, and other special events during the year, we seek to reach out to senior adults in our church and in Waco.
Neighbors International
Our Neighbors International Program is a ministry to foreign-born adults who are seeking to learn English, learn how to sew, use a computer, pass a United States citizenship test, and so much more. This ministry meets each Thursday morning, September through May.
Recreation at The Center
Our recreational facility, The Center, offers many opportunities for you and your family to exercise, participate in activities, missions and much more.
Prayer
Prayer is a vital part of church life at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. Our Prayer Ministry serves as a support system for our church, our staff, our church family, and for people throughout our city, state, nation, and world.
DivorceCare & GriefShare
CABC offers support groups for those who have gone through a divorce or separation, or for those who have experienced a losss of a loved one. These 13-week groups have proven to be life-changing and powerful in many people's lives.
Women's Ministry
Columbus Men
Columbus Men is the exclusive ministry for the men of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. With focus groups in service, bible study, and fellowship, the Columbus Men strive to give CABC men a place to get involved, grow as Christian men, and develop relationships with fellow men of CABC.
